How Birght is the Night by Ted Stahl

How Bright Is The Night?

We burn our fires
And point our lights
At styrene spires
In the night

Stabbing at the dark
With garish beams
That cleave and mark
Its velvet dreams

Artificial day
An affront to nature
Undermines Earth's say
And its own stature

Turn your eyes
From headlights on cars
And behold the skies
Painted with stars
